When Is The Best Time To Take Photos?

Hi. My name is Brook Lynn and this is my personal opinion on what time is the best to take photos. I am a photographer based out of Las Vegas, NV and to me there is no right or wrong time to take photos. It is about personal preference of what type of ascetic you want. Yes we can go based off the sun and shoot the last hour before sunset “ golden hour” or in the first hour after sunrise “magic hour'“ however it is all personal preference. If you want a bright and sunny shoot then shooting in the middle of the day might be your vibe. If you want a dimmer more dramatic vibe then shooting at “golden hour” is going to be stunning for that.

It also depends on location. If you have a dream location you have always wanted to take photos at then you and the photographer would need to communicate on what time is going to look best at that location as well. If it is a architectural building and you want to bring out the environment around you in your photos then figuring out the best time when the sun is going to highlight the building in the perfect way is maybe when you need to take photos at that time of day. Again all depends on your vibe you are going for and your personal preferences.

Bright and Sunny

This photo was taken in the middle of the day. Exposed great light to my subjects however did have some shadowing that maybe could of looked better at a different time of day. however this hour made their skin glow and that ring shine so all and all still a great time to take some beautiful photos.

Love Love LOVEEEE Cloudy Days Personally

Why I love cloudy days is because it gives great light on subjects. Again personal opinion. This shoot was a very cloudy day downtown with these girls and the light was perfect. It complemented their skin tones and facial expressions/features beautifully. While still giving the brightness the sun was not beating straight on them it was covered. It gave even light threw out the shoot and gave the perfect vibe for a valentines day theme.
